Happy 60th Anniversary, WJ and Marian!

Hi to All, Steve and I wanted to share some pictures of the wonderful anniversary "picnic" dinner all of us hosted at WJ and Marian's in honor of 60 blessed years together. Because Marian will blow out 80 candles on June 19, they're pondering the idea of a dual celebration for their diamond anniversary and the big birthday. We called it a picnic dinner because the menu consisted of barbecued pork and beef from Boyd & Charlie's in Elkhorn (fabulous!) and assorted side dishes that would rival the Bull Family Picnic. It was a pleasant break in the middle of a cold winter.
As you can see from the pictures, we had a very healthy and glowing Winfred and Marge, both recently released from hospital stays which involved several surgeries. We are thankful for their quick recoveries and for the wonderful care they received while at Methodist Hospital, conveniently on the same floor at the same time. Along with Marty's family and our family, other guests included WJ and Marian's close friend, pastor and neighbor, Carol, Roselyn and Bill (WJ's sister) and soon-to-be-wed, Kelly and Paul (we love having them so close now). Keep warm and we hope to see everyone sometime soon.

All I got for Christmas was knocked up...

Well it's true...Matt and I have had enough of that spending quality time alone with your spouse and have decided to add a baby! We were excited to be able to tell both our families in person at Christmas with that perfect t-shirt that says it all :)

We've had a couple of doctors visits already and things are going great. I'm 12 weeks along now and waiting for that burst of energy! My due date is late August and I've been feeling great, just extremely tired...11 hours of sleep is a must for me right now.

Matt can't wait to be a dad and has been my super good hubby by cooking me dinner and taking care of the house a lot. He's also hoping with the late August due date that the baby will hold on until at least September 1st so...wait for it...our kid can be the oldest when s/he enters school to get that leg up on all things sports!

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and everything is going just splendidly. I can't wait for Kelly and Paul's wedding and lots of congrats to Niki for finishing her Masters!

Love, Elissa and Matt
