Here's some pictures from my recent trip to Arizona. Paul had a friend getting married in Phoenix area and we made it into a long weekend trip. This was my first trip to the desert and it certainly was good timing to get away from the below freezing Iowa weather. We got in a couple of good hikes on mountains in the area and enjoyed the 80-degree sunshine. Paul would love to live there someday since he is such a car fanatic--cars don't rust down there and he could ride his motorcycle year-round. I don't know if I'm sold on the desert idea yet but it certainly was a good trip.
I'm enjoying my new job with Hy-vee at a different store. The pharmacy at this store (in Ankeny) is less busy than my previous store which is a great change of pace for me. I am enjoying everyone I'm working with up there. Unfortunately the manager at this new store, who I really like, is moving to Omaha to work at a new Hy-vee that is going up in Pappillion (sp?). We will miss her a lot and hope we get another great manager. That's all my news, hope everyone is doing well and is getting this new site figured out. The password is the same for new posts, just the user name is different (I'm assuming this is Sue's g-mail account).

Testing, 1, 2, 3...from Suki

Hi,

Just a quick note to say hi and test our new blog for Sue. It's also a good chance to share a photo of me with my sister's car that was taken during my visit to see her in Abilene.

It's interesting how much attention you can get driving around in one of these in the very friendly, Christian town of Abilene. I hope this post works and everyone have a great and safe Valentine's Day!

Saturday Night - Sue

Hello,

If you're reading this, I guess it means you found your way to the "new" blog. It seems to now be hosted by Google so I had to do a little manuevering to get us here... hope it's working for everyone.

John and Joe are at some UNL football party tonight here in Omaha. A friend of John's is involved in this every year where they invite a grad assistant from the staff to come and talk to them...they charge admission, serve pizza and beer, and sit around all evening, hanging on every word this guy has to say. Joe has gone the last couple of years...he's just as nutz about this football stuff as his dad... it's fine...it gives them something to talk about. Joe is anxious to get back into mowing..he's looking at bigger trailers, more gadgets, etc. John will probably try to find a newer truck for himself, and we'll sell his truck to Joe, so that will get him by for a few more years.. He wants more customers, but can't afford to get too big either, until he's out of school.

I wanted to let you all know that Friday, Febr. 16, is your Aunt Marge's 85th birthday, if anyone would like to send her a card.. I'm sure she'd love to hear from all of you. She's gotten along great with her chemo treatments and only has one more round to go...

Things are so busy with my job... our little company has plugged along all these years (28 that I've been there this summer!) and grown from 35 people to 140 now. Last year
we hired over 40 new employees.. most of the growth is being fueled (pardon the pun) by the ethanol boom... they're building plants all over the country and we're supplying the equipment... our salesmen are having to turn down business...they can hardly spit out the words when they have to do that! We think this will have a 3-5 year run, and then we'll need to have other products ready to go to continue the growth.

Here's our Cotton Bowl picture...

love, Sue
