Meet Lily-from Kelly and Paul

We would like to introduce the newest addition to our family-Lily:) Paul and I have just adopted a 3 month old puppy. She is a rat terrier and currently weighs about 9 lbs. We are expecting her to get to about 20 lbs when she's full grown. We both have been wanting to add a puppy to our family since we moved into our new house in Lincoln but just had not found the right fit. Paul found her on Craig's list from someone who had to leave their house suddenly and could not take her along.
So far she has been energetic during the day and a lap dog in the evening which is working out well for us. We're working on the training side of things and hope she picks up basic good-dog behavior quickly (she has been pretty good so far). According to the internet, rat terriers are fairly intelligent so hopefully she'll remember 'command' words.
That's been the big excitement for our weekend thus far, we are hosting a Super Bowl party tomorrow for my co-workers so hopefully she adjusts well to the social scene. We hope you all enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend and the Super Bowl!
Love,
Kelly and Paul

PUPPY POWER!!!! (from Scrappy-Doo)

Hello all,

It's been awhile since I've crashed the blog so I figured I mind as well do it today! Not much new is with me, but I DID start grad school just last week! I'm at UNK now in the Counseling program and so far I'm LOVING it! I have intakes in February to get fully admitted to the program. I'll let you all know when and if I get admitted for that.

The courses I'm currently taking are Theories of Counseling (they wouldn't let me test out of it) and Intro to Counseling. So far I haven't been bogged down with homework, but the rest of the semester is yet to come! I'm sure that I'll be bogged down with my homework later on and then repost about how much I HATE grad school. LOL. No, but really, right now the classes are easy peasy and I'm having fun...which is the important thing right?

Umm, oh yes, Theories of Counseling. Well you see, I took the same class at Doane in the undergrad, same book and they said no to letting me test out. Grrr...stupid teachers! LOL. Oh well, it's a good review for me. This time though I WON'T sell my book back. I learned my lesson from the last time and that's not selling your major books back.

What else??? I'm currently applying for jobs other than the regional center. I think it's time for me to move on and see what other careers are out there for me and seeing if I can work with the adults and stuff like that. I really don't know though if it's a smart move or not, but for now I think that it's time for me to move on. I applied at Region III behavioral health and recieved an interview for the ICCU postiion, but don't believe I got it. That's alright though because I'm not sure that I can balance training and going to school would be able to be completed. But I'm also applying at Arbor and seeing if I can be a job coach there for adults who are recieving public assistance. So hopefully I'll get an interview there and that everything will turn out okay there. but we'll see.

Sorry, I can't type becuase i have to get used to my fake nails that I have on again and it's kind of a hassle. But I just LOVE having acrylics on so therefore, I need to get used to them again. Well, I really don't have much else to report. Ask mom about the transmission going out on the car...she can tell you more about that than I can. I say it's time for a new car but leave it to dad to fix it as usual...oh well, I have my new car (my neon) that I could care less. Tee hee!

well, that's all for now. I'll crash the blog again later on about grad school report. Until then peace out.

Happy New Year and Birthday Invitation from Nancy

Greetings to family members far and wide!
Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and you have been keeping warm these last few days.

First, I want to invite everyone to an 80th birthday celebration for mom on Sunday, January 25th at the Mahoney State Park lodge. We will gather at 12:15 for the buffet in the restaurant. Although they don't take reservations there, the manager has assured me that this is a slow time of the year and we shouldn't have any trouble being able to sit together.

Let me know if you'll be able to attend or not by emailing me at snmeyer@windstream.net. Hope to see lots of people next Sunday!!

Love,
Nancy
