TIME: gather together around noon and picnic by 1:00 pm

Please bring your favorite dish and lawn chairs.

Drinks, tableware, silverware AND BBQ provided!

ALSO

Please bring YOUR small baby picture AND an adult picture. Family photos are also welcome. We will make a family tree photo collage.

Hello, Family from Mary Jo

I did e-mail Theresa, but thought I would post a general comment to all of you. I do hope more of us will be able to show up in Yutan...and I will probably come, even though Paul may be out in the field! Like I told her, it's just important to get together, and I'm sure we are all acutely aware that we're all getting OLDER! About the time Theresa had issued her first invitation, Mom had just come out of the hospital with a bleeding ulcer. Before that was diagnosed and treated, she felt really tough. She just didn't see any way she would be able to travel to OK. We are very fortunate that in the 33 years since we started this tradition only grandma has passed away, and we need to be grateful we can still get together as such an intact group!

Enough philosophizing for now. I've got "tomatoes gone mad" to attend to. At least it's a nice cool morning for harvesting!

Thanks for the invitation to OK, Theresa. I'm sure you will show everyone a good time! Unfortunately, I don't think you should count on us. Paul is now an official certified organic farmer, and doing a lot of labor himself at our farm in the next county west. The crops are a little late this year, and it's not unlikely that he will still be irrigating the soy beans unless we get a rainy spell.
He thinks it's great fun. He doesn't know retired people are supposed to take it easier!

While he's been busy farming, I've been busy canning and freezing stuff from the garden. Fortunately, my client list (day care providers I visit) is smaller in August than some months.

I guess we must sound like folks from another era to most of you.

I have SO MUCH enjoyed the posts from the younger generation. You are such interesting young women. Please keep us in the loop. (I'm expecting some video of Taylor's first birthday party...)
